K-9 Aron was a 2 year old German Shepherd from the Czech Republic, employed with the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office, in Ohio. He was acquired by the Sheriff's Office in mid-2016 when he was chosen by Deputy Harger (his handler) through Shallow Creek Kennels in Pennsylvania. They graduated from K-9 school in the late fall of 2016 and began working patrol immediately for PCSO. Aron was instrumental in many narcotic acquisitions for the agency and was responsible for the largest methamphetamine seizure in local history. On the morning of July 5th, 2017, Aron was found to have a distended stomach that resulted in emergency surgery.
He did not survive the surgery.
